Spring Fling Plant Sale – May 9. CANCELLED. Extension Master GardenerSM Plant Sale, in partnership with the Asheville Blue Ridge Rose Society.
Demo Days at The Learning Garden. Educational events for the public are being planned for the year. The events will be held at The Learning Garden, located at the Extension Office on March 11, June 6, August 8 and September 22. Detailed information will be posted as it is finalized.
WNC Gardening Symposium – October 14. We are pleased to announce that the 2020 WNC Gardening Symposium will be held on October 14th at Blue Ridge Community College in Flat Rock, NC. More information will be provided later this spring.
Ongoing educational activities & events:
Gardening in the Mountains Series*: A series of 90 minute seminars covering various gardening topics. These programs will be offered the third Thursday of each month, February thru October. Saturday Seminar Series*: A series of hands-on seminars covering various gardening topics. These programs will be held on selected Saturday mornings, February – September. Backyard Composting Demonstrations: Composting demonstrations will be held the 2nd and 4th Saturday, April – September. The demonstration site is located at the edge of Jesse Israel’s property at the WNC Farmers Market. The site will be staffed by Extension Master GardenerSM volunteers, usually from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., but may vary. Check the calendar below for details. During the current health crisis, the Extension Office is closed. To answer your gardening questions, Extension Master GardenerSM Volunteers of Buncombe County will be working from home to keep the Garden Helpline open to the public. We are available to respond to your phone calls and emails. Send an email or leave a voice message at any time and a Master Gardener will respond during the Helpline hours listed below. Two ways to contact the Garden Helpline: Call 828-250-4878 or Email questions and photos to firstname.lastname@example.org The Helpline hours are Mondays and Wednesdays 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m, and Fridays 10:00 a.m. to Noon.
